Job Summary:  Responsible for operating industrial sewing machine to join fabric parts to construct upholstery coverings for upholstered furniture.

Essential Functions: 

• Ability to read and interpret production tickets.
• Verify appropriate thread for fabric style.
• Operate industrial pneumatic sewing machine to assemble product.
• Monitor quality.
• Record quantity produced.
• Inspect all upholstered pieces for accuracy.
• Apply custom trims as needed.

Work Environment:  While performing this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne dust particles, moving mechanical parts, and somewhat loud noise.  Safety glasses and hearing protection is provided.  Safety glasses must be worn at all times in the factory.

Physical Demands:  This position requires prolonged sitting and lifting of up to 30 lbs.  It also requires the constant use of both hands throughout the work day.

Productivity Requirements:  To accurately produce 8 pieces per day.

Preferred Skills: 

• Knowledge of upholstery.
• Understanding of pattern matching.
• Ability to maintain seam tolerances according to style.
• Must have good communication skills.

Required Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of three years of experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have basic computer skills.
