General Upholstery Care

These easy to follow upholstery care recommendations will ensure that your piece looks as great as it feels!

  • Rotate and fluff your seat and back cushions weekly. This helps maintain the over-all look and feel of the cushions. Plus, it ensures that all parts of the cushions wear evenly.
  • Vacuum or brush your piece weekly. The helps prevent dust and dirt build-up and keeps your piece looking new.
  • Make sure to follow the fabric cleaning code instructions when attempting to clean your upholstery.
  • Upholstery is not meant for pet use. If you allow your pets to use your upholstery, make sure that you are taking extra precautions to protect your pieces. Pet claws can snag the fibers in your fabric, so make sure to put down something to protect the fabric.
  • Fabrics will fade or change color over time, this is an inherit characteristic of most fabrics. You can reduce this effect by minimizing direct sunlight, and rotating your cushions.

Slipcover Care

Our slipcover styles allow you to keep your investment looking great all year round. All of our washed fabrics can be cleaned in a standard washing machine.

When you are ready to wash your slipcover, please follow the following simple steps:

  1. Before removing the slipcover, we advise you inspect how the cover is applied, so recovering the piece can be done quickly and correctly.
  2. Unzip any zippers located on the back of the frame and gently pull the slipcover up off the top back rail. Then move to an arm and pull the slipcover toward you. Then proceed around the back of the piece loosening as you go, until you end up back at the other arm. When placing the slipcover back on the piece, start at the back of the frame and work your way to the front.
  3. Set your washing machine to the "Gentle" cycle and use cold water and a mild detergent. Be careful not to overload the machine. You may need to run two separate loads. However, we suggest that you wash the entire slipcover each time instead of parts of it, which will help prevent color variations. Zip your seat, back and throw py-4 px-4 mb-3 mt-3 pillow casings closed prior to washing to preserve the life of the seams.
  4. Tumble dry your slipcover on the low setting for 3-5 minutes, then continue drying on the air cycle. During the drying process, open the dryer and pull fabric apart to ensure the center parts dry evenly. Pull out the slipcover when it is slightly damp and return it to the furniture. Wrinkles should smooth out naturally after the slipcover is reapplied.
  5. Do not line dry the slipcover, as the weight of the wet fabric may cause pulling and stretching.

Leather Care

For regular care and cleaning wipe down leather pieces periodically with a dry cloth to remove dust and prevent dirt build-up. Cleaners or solvents should never be used on leather pieces as they could rub the finish or topcoat off.

For stains and spills, lightly dampen a cloth with warm water and blot the stain to lift and remove it. If this does not remove the spot, a mild soap and water solution can be used. Again, lightly dampen a cloth with the solution and blot the area. Repeat blotting with a dry cloth. Do not scrub the area, press heavily or blot in a scrubbing motion. Always spot check in an inconspicuous area as some leather finishes are not suitable for this cleaning method.

There are products available that are leather cleaners and conditioners, but again some leather finishes are not suitable for this type of cleaning. We advise that you use these cleaners with caution. Our customer service will be happy to contact our leather suppliers for you and have them recommend a cleaning product.

Outdoor Care

We recommend the following care and cleaning instructions for the MT Outdoor collection:

  • Rotate and fluff the seat and back cushions often. This helps maintain the over-all look and feel of the cushions. It also ensures that all parts of the cushions wear evenly
  • Brush, dust and vacuum the furniture to prevent dust and dirt build up. We do not recommend power washing your Outdoor Furniture.
  • When the furniture is not in use or during inclement weather please store indoors or cover with our Outdoor furniture covers
  • Follow fabric cleaning code instructions which can be found on your fabric swatch or on our website
  • MT Outdoor is not meant for pet use. If you allow pets to use the furniture please make sure that you are taking extra precautions to protect your pieces. Pet claws can snag the fibers in the fabric, so make sure to put down something to protect the fabric
